We (Still) Don’t Cross Picket Lines - Supporting the WGA and SAG-AFTRA

An image that reads "Writers Guild SAG-AFTRA on Strike"

Several weeks ago, Blackwarren Books spoke out in solidarity with the decision of the Writers Guild of America to strike. Today, as SAG-AFTRA has joined the WGA in striking, we reiterate our support.

As an LGBTQIA+ fiction publisher, Blackwarren Books is committed to supporting the work of writers and actors who create stories that represent our community. We believe that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are essential to protecting the rights of all workers in the entertainment industry, and we stand in solidarity with them.

The WGA strike is a fight for fair pay and residuals for writers. SAG-AFTRA's strike is a fight for better working conditions for actors. Both strikes are about ensuring that the people who create the content we love are fairly compensated and treated with respect.

Blackwarren Books pledges to never use AI-based technologies in our art or media. We believe that AI-based technologies are a threat to the jobs of writers and actors, and we will not support their use.

We urge all of our readers, writers, and actors to support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Together, we can make a difference.

Why This Is Important To Us

Blackwarren Books is an independent LGBTQIA+ fiction publisher. We are committed to publishing stories that represent our community and challenge the status quo. We believe that everyone deserves to see themselves reflected in the books they read.

We are proud to stand in solidarity with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. We believe that these strikes are essential to protecting the rights of all workers in the entertainment industry. We urge you to join us in supporting these important fights.
